Actually a didn't find a way to avoid the creation of the Microsoft Teams shortcut for all the users I've tried to contact Microsoft O support regarding this they've just told me to disable Teams via the customisation tool Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

I've encountered the same issue no Desktop shortcut when installing version 1. It happened on new laptops and also my own laptop. Before it's announced as a BUG, as a workaround, you may use the old MSI file to install and update to the latest version auto-update is OK if you didn't disable it.
